 Ms. Rasmussen previously served on the village board from 1976 through 1983. She also taught part-time at Alfred University in the fields of chemistry and environmental
studies. Prior to coming to Alfred, Ms. Rasmussen taught students in Lusaka, Zambia and in Istanbul, Turkey. During
the late '80s and the '90s she was education director at the New Alchemy Institute, an ecological research and education center on Cape Cod, and at the E. F. Schumacher Society in Great Barrington, MA. Ms. Rasmussen served as coordinator
for the Cape Cod Campaign for Civil Rights from 1992-1994, worked with the MA Deptartment of Mental Health, and is currently a member of a collective - the Program on Corporations, Law and Democracy - researching, writing and speaking on matters related to illegitimate corporate power
vs. radical democracy. She has two children, Michael and Ellen. Ms. Rasmussen and her partner, Linda Belle, reside at 50 West University Street. |
